the Negro still / is not free. 〜
One hundred years later, 〜

Cent jarojn pli poste, One hundred years later, 〜

that America has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. 〜
Anstataŭ ol honori tiun sanktan obligacion, Usono donis al la Negra popolo malbonan ĉekon - ĉekon revenintan markitan de "kasoj malsufiĉaj".Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, 〜

The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation 〜

But there is something that I must say to my people, 〜

La mirinda nova batalemo, kiu inundis (englutis) la Negraran komunumon, devas ne konduki nin al malfido je ĉiu blankhaŭta popolo, The marvelous new militancy 〜

We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro 〜

ni povos fruigi la tagon, kiam ĉiuj infanoj de Dio, nigruloj kaj blankuloj, judoj kaj Gojoj (ne-Judoj), protestantoj kaj katolikoj, povos ligi siajn manojn kaj kanti laŭ la vortoj de la malnova Nigrula preĝokanto:we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Liberiĝis finfine! Liberiĝis finfine! Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!
